  • The Tijereta departs Los Sueños Marina, fishing from 6:30am–5pm each day in some of the most productive blue marlin and sailfish fisheries in the world. All meals, drinks, bait, and tackle included. Max 6 anglers.

  • The Tijereta crew has years of experience catching billfish on fly. Come flyfish for sailfish and blue marlin with multiple shots per day in the clean, beautiful, and family friendly environment that Los Suenos provides. We provide tackle.

  • Great fishing is just the beginning. Through our concierge service, we can arrange luxury condo accommodations at Los Sueños Resort, local excursions, dining, and everything else you need for an unforgettable Costa Rica trip. We take care of the details so you can focus on the fish.

    CAPTAIN

    Rigan has spent more than a decade fishing these waters with Capt. Bubba Carter as his first mate aboard the Tijereta. Now being promoted to Captain, he is an incredible fisherman with a kind demeanor that makes fishing with him an absolute pleasure. Combine this with his local knowledge and experience and you are in great hands.

    FIRST MATE

    Jorge keeps the cockpit running like clockwork — rigging baits, clearing lines, and putting you in the best possible position to land the fish of a lifetime. A tireless worker and an invaluable part of every charter. Jorge has a unique gift for understanding how best to serve our clients and help them maximize their experience. He consistently puts our customers first, elevating their experience rather than seeking recognition for himself — a quality that is rare among many mates.

    OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

    In addition to being and exceptional angler, Viviana is the adult in the room that keeps all us fisherman in line! She has been the organizational backbone of the Tijereta for years and continues to be the glue that holds it all together. We are so fortunate to have her serving in this organizational capacity. For booking questions, trip planning, and concierge arrangements, she's your first call.

    This man has spent a lifetime perfecting his craft and needs no introduction. One of the most decorated sportfishing captains in the world, Bubba built the Tijereta's reputation over decades — 40,000+ billfish released, 18 world records, the IGFA Tommy Gifford Award, and the recent recipient of TBF John Roybovich Lifetime Achievement Award. Despite all these accolades, Bubba’s most impressive assets are his humble demeanor, big smile, and willingness to help those around him achieve success. We all appreciate his hard work and dedication. The boat carries that legacy forward on every trip.

    A lifelong fisherman with a serious passion bluewater fishing, Roger discovered the treasures of the Pacific aboard the Tijereta in 2015 and never looked back. It was an honor to accept the proposition of owning the Tijereta. Taking ownership wasn't just an opportunity of a lifetime — it was a commitment to keeping one of the finest operations in Costa Rica exactly where it belongs.
